Greetings, to the churches of Presbytery Church in America (PCA) and to all believers in the Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior that may read this letter.
Who am I?
My name is Michael McNeil, I am a servant of Jesus Christ, a member of the Severna Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church (SPEP), my local church, which is part of Chesapeake Presbytery (CP), which is my local Presbytery, which is part of Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), which is the denomination that I belong to. I live in Ellicott City, Maryland.
Why am I writing to you?
In November 2008, my wife Sarah McNeil filed divorce, and has justified her lawsuit against based on the results and rulings of a trial that SPEP held against my character. As part of their ruling, they informed both me and Sarah that it was not sin for her to live apart from me (biblically this is divorce). Once she got this ruling, she immediately filed for a “limited divorce”, informing the civil magistrates that there was no hope of reconciliation between her and I. SPEP since then has supported her every action in civil court against me, to include Sarah McNeil's clear attempts to make me utterly destitute and to possibly put me in debtors prison. SPEP did all this contrary to the PCA Constitution and the word of God.
Additionally, I have filed an appeal with CP, arguing that the trial was unconstitutional in that heasay evidence was allowed, opinions where given as evidence, the prosecutor was also serving as a judge, and for other various reasons. Additionally, since the ruling was that it was not sin for Sarah McNeil to divorce me, and there was no charge of adultry or desertion which is required in accordance with the PCA constituion, then it follows that the rulling itself in no way can ever be held as being biblicle or in accordance with the PCA Constitution. In fact the men of SPEP have acted in direct violation to Christ commands towards marriage.
Therefore, this page will remain and I will continue to post details of the situation as time and prudence in order that the elders and member of the PCA will rise up and deal with these issues in the church. To this end, I would recommend everyone to review, 1 Corinthians Chapter 5, and Judges Chapter's 19 & 20.
Additionally, I have and will keep complaining in the PCA courts about SPEP's unconstitutional treatment of me, and the heretical doctrines that lead to the demise of my marriage with Sarah McNeil's continual assults.
One, last thing. I have received various responses to my postings via email from members of the PCA and other denominations from almost every state in the union thus far, and even some international responses. For the most part these responses have been possitive, though I am not without my critics. As times allows and the Spirit moves me, I will answer my critics that seem to support SPEP's actions or who has a desire to silence me, so that this matter will remain hidden.
Please do keep sending me your thoughts and responses to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . I find words of support and the knowledge that others are praying for me to very comforting.
Also, if you want to support SPEP decition and/or have a problem that I am being open about these issues, please feel free to email me. For if you believe I am in sin, I do believe it is your Christian duty to try and show me my error. Please give your arguments with a Christian perspective.
May The King Reign in All Your Ways!!!
-Michael A. McNeil
